How it works

From messy notes to a finished film

Our animation production process takes you from a rough brief to a finished animated video in four steps, and you sign off the script, look and voice before we animate.

  1. 1

    Send the idea

Rough notes, a website link or a voice note are all fine. Tell us who the video is for and what they should do after watching.

  2. 2

    Approve the script

We write a script for your audience and send it before anything is recorded. Script changes are free at this stage.

  3. 3

    Approve the look & voice

Pick the style and the voice. We design the characters and scenes around your brand.

  4. 4

    We animate & deliver

Full animation, music and sound, timed to the voice and delivered in 1080p, ready for your site, ads and socials.

FAQ

Questions about hiring an animation agency

What does a 2D animation agency do?

A 2D animation agency takes your idea from a rough brief to a finished animated video. At Sketch Signal that means writing the script, recording the voiceover, designing custom characters and scenes, adding music and sound, and animating the whole film in 2D for your website, ads or social channels.

What's the difference between 2D animation and motion graphics?

2D animation usually means characters acting out a story. Motion graphics animates design elements instead, such as text, icons, shapes, charts, logos and app screens, to make information easy to follow. We make both, and many of our explainers mix the two.

How much does an animated explainer video cost?

Our animated explainer packages start at $150 for 30 seconds, $300 for 60 seconds and $500 for 90 seconds. Each includes the script, voiceover, custom characters, music and animation. Longer films, series and motion graphics are quoted per project, so send a short brief and we'll confirm the price.

How long does it take to make an animated video?

It depends on the length and the number of scenes. We share a timeline with our plan, and you approve the script, the look and the voice before we animate, so there are no surprises at the end.

Can you work with us remotely?

Yes. Briefs, script approval, feedback and delivery all happen online, so we can work with brands wherever they are.

Do I need a finished script?

No. Rough notes, a website link or a voice note are all fine. We write the script and send it for your approval first.

Is the voiceover a real person?

Standard projects use a premium AI voice. If you prefer a human voice, send your own recording and we animate to it.

Can I use the video in my ads?

Yes, on your website, social media and online ads. Tell us first if it is for TV, radio or film, because music licensing is different there.

Can you match my brand?

Yes. Send your logo, colours and any style examples, and we build the characters and scenes around them.

Which sizes do you deliver?

1080p in 16:9 (landscape, for YouTube and websites) or 9:16 (vertical, for Shorts, Reels and TikTok).

Can I change the script after the voiceover?

Script changes are free before the voiceover is recorded. Changes after that count as an extra.

What don't you make?

Anime, 3D animation and live-action footage. Everything we make is 2D: character animation and motion graphics.
